About the Artist

Joanne Graham wildlife artistJoanne Graham was born in Petaluma, California. She has always been interested in art, and her blossoming talent was apparent and acknowledged very early in her childhood. By the time she entered high school she had developed her own unique style of creating art.

As a Sporting Dog Artist, Joanne is a dedicated supporter of the California Waterfowl Association, Ducks Unlimited, Canine Companions for Independence, and many other organizations. Joanne unselfishly volunteers her time and donates numerous prints at many events throughout the year.

From Joanne:
I have often been asked why I paint animal portraits. It's because animals are the one constant in my life. Ever since I was a small child, all I have wanted were pets. As so many people know, animals offer you love and companionship that is often unequalled by any other. I have adored my dogs, cats, horses, and numerous other little creatures as each has come into my life. It is this love of animals that has made my decision to paint them an easy one.

Inevitably, as I am at my easel, one of my cats is on my lap, and one of my dogs is at my feet. My animals, and therefore my paintings, are a comfort in my life. My hope is that my paintings will have the same effect for all who see them.
